Maria Wisnet, head teacher of the Johannes-Vatter-Schule in Friedberg in Germany died on February 1st, 2012. FEAPDA members were shocked and saddened by this news. Maria was an active member of FEAPDA having been a delegate on behalf of the German Association of Teachers of the Deaf, of which she was President, for many years. During the last two years she played an enormous role in the FEAPDA delegation to the Leonardo da Vinci project work drawing up competencies for Teachers of the Deaf. As a teacher trainer herself and a successful and greatly loved and admired head teacher, her contributions were irreplaceable. Her loss leaves a huge hole in FEAPDA - we will not forget her charming personality and huge influence.
